1. AS3959-2009 Construction of Buildings in Bush-fire Prone
Areas
Recent
devastation from the Victorian bushfires illustrates the importance of
understanding how to build or rebuild homes with the highest level of
resistance to bushfire attack for buildings assessed in bushfire-prone
areas.
The newly revised Australian Standard, AS3959-2009
Construction of Buildings in Bush-fire Prone Areas,
has been fast tracked for early release and was enacted in Victorian
legislation effective 11 March 2009, and is due to be referenced
in the Building Code of Australia effective 1 May 2010.
